Enjoy the magic of Christmas in the Czech Republic

This Year the Christmas markets start on November 28 and will run until January 1, 2010.

Prague´s Christmas markets are some of the best known in Europe. Tens of stalls will appear on the Old Town Square (20 min walk from Golden Horse House through the magic Lesser Town Square and historic Charles Bridge) and on Wenceslas Square (30 min walk from Golden Horse House). On both you will be able to buy Christmas decorations, corn doll tree decorations, yuletide straw figures, beautifully decorated gingerbread, fragrant candles and warm scarves and hats. You won´t be able to resist the refreshments on offer. Hot punch, aromatic mead, roast chestnuts, old Bohemian baked "trdlo" and grilled sausages are well - deserved reward for enduring the yuletide crowds.

Exhibition Skreta Charles (1610 - 1674): Time and work will have the largest display of this important artist, founder of Baroque painting in Bohemia. Besides the work itself Škréta also feature works by his son Charles Škréta ml., Work Škrétových students and workshop employees, as well as showcases the works of artists with whom Charles Skreta met during his stay in Germany and Italy, where paintings, which established and which is inspired in his own creation.

Monet - Warhol / Masterpieces from the Albertina Museum and Batlinerovy collections, this is the title of an exhibition organized by the National Gallery in the Trade Fair Palace. Maybe it belonged to the subtitle of the Vienna treasures came to us. Indeed a rarity. Czech functionalist exhibition "stand" to be proud of the honor at least for a period of nearly eighty works loaned by the Austrian colleagues attribute it. A Czech audience? That they may well just make money.
